Founder & Managing Partner
George Ngugi Gathuka (GNG) is the founding and Managing Partner at GNA Law Firm. He holds a Masters Degree in Law (LL.M) from the University of South Wales, a Bachelors of Law (LL.B) from Moi University, and a Post Graduate Diploma from the Kenya School of Law. As the managing partner, George sets and provides the overall vision and strategic direction of the firm while developing business strategies to enhance growth and market positioning, as well as leading and motivating legal and administrative teams to ensure high performance.
Prior to establishing GNA Law Firm, George worked for various constitutionally independent government organizations and international organizations as a legal advisor and project development head (i.e., the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, Kenya Law Reform Commission, and AWEB in South Korea). He has previously been appointed to various task forces charged with reviewing and developing legislations at the dawn of the 2010 Constitutional dispensations and implementation process in Kenya. With over 14 years of experience, George has an in-depth grasp of commercial and corporate matters, public-private projects, project finance, and all types of real estate projects including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. He has provided guidance from the inception of a project, through construction, to its realization.
He is widely hailed and recognized as an expert in immigration matters with a reputation for advising and assisting foreign investors in setting up and acquiring the necessary permits and licenses to operate in Kenya. George has also advised clients and successfully handled cases in other areas such as Employment Law, Debt Recovery, Intellectual Property, Alternative Dispute Resolutions, Probate, and Succession Law.

Ivy Njeri is an Associate in the Conveyancing Department at GNA Advocates. Her work encompasses general real estate, property, and construction matters including advising and preparing documentation in relation to property acquisition/disposal, property development, property financing, commercial/residential leases, joint ventures, and licenses. She specializes in guiding clients through complex real estate transactions from initiation to completion.
Ivy represents both residential and commercial developers across all aspects of real estate development, with particular expertise in property acquisitions/sales, due diligence investigations, and negotiation of commercial contracts. Her practice extends to advising clients on land use planning, zoning regulations, environmental compliance, and user restrictions for properties throughout Kenya. She additionally provides strategic counsel on capital gains tax optimization, stamp duty considerations, and comprehensive legal compliance for real estate transactions.
A dedicated and detail-oriented advocate, Ivy demonstrates exceptional communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities. Recognized as a collaborative team member, she consistently delivers energy and commitment to assigned projects.
