International contracts increasingly send their disputes to arbitration rather than national courts, and Nairobi is emerging as an African seat of choice through the Nairobi Centre for International Arbitration. We act as counsel in international commercial and investment arbitrations, advise on the drafting of arbitration clauses before disputes arise and handle the recognition and enforcement of foreign awards in Kenya.
The firm's Managing Partner is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and the team is familiar with the institutional rules most commonly chosen by parties doing business in East Africa. We work alongside foreign counsel as Kenyan co-counsel on matters governed by Kenyan law or involving Kenyan parties and assets, and we are available for appointment as arbitrator in appropriate cases.
Who We Act ForInternational contractors and project companies, foreign investors, multinational groups, Kenyan parties in disputes with overseas counterparties, and international law firms requiring Kenyan co-counsel.
